I'll tell you what happened--I had three baby showers and moved to a new apartment. It was a very busy month!
The new apartment has two bedrooms so that the baby can have one of her own. Actually, she shares it with my computer and sewing stuff. But it its a lot more room for all of us and I am so happy! I am especially happy that we now have central air - only about half the places in Van Nuys do - and a dishwasher, something I've been living without for four years. My life has changed with that simple machine and I am grateful for it!
All is on track with the pregnancy and I have another ultrasound tomorrow. Malcom's hoping that it will reveal that we're actually having a boy and they were mistaken the first time, but I'm definitely hoping not! Also, if you're praying for me to have the baby soon, please stop! She is still 4 weeks away from her due date, and I want to have her after September 5th because that means I can get more time off work. So just pray that she'll be okay and that she'll come at the right time, and I think that'll work best. Thanks!
I felt my first earthquake this week! It was late on Thursday night/Friday morning at about 1 AM. Malcom was at work. I was putting together our new bookshelf and I heard a rumble, almost like the AC was going on. But the noise went away and everything started to shake. Not really bad, and nothing fell down, but it was a good 10-15 seconds of shaking. I moved to a doorway and waited for it to stop. I wasn't scared, but that's probably because it wasn't that big. The reports say it was 4.6, which is the biggest we've had in the whole time we've been here. There was very little damage anywhere (mostly little stuff falling off shelves), and no deaths or injuries. It was pretty cool!
I guess that's it for now. Please keep checking back. I got a new digital camera in preparation for the baby, so I'll be sure to have good pics of the apartment and the baby's room as soon as they're ready.
