No, we haven't found a house

A lot of you have asked, so I figured I'd do a general update.

"How is the house hunting going?"

Awful.

There are no houses.

Well, okay, there are houses, but apparently the ones in our price range are the same ones that EVERYONE else wants. So we keep looking. We find ones we like online and we ask the realtor to check them out. Eight times out of ten, they are either not available, almost in escrow, or have several other offers on them. If we get one that is available, we go see it. If it's not too loud, too small, too dirty, or too scary of a neighborhood, we'll put in an offer. Two weeks later, we'll call and ask about it and we'll find out that there have been three or five more offers put in on it and be told that it will take months before we hear back officially.

And that's it. That's where we are. All the good ones are taken and the ones that are left for us are reduced to a file in some bank. They have thousands of these houses to deal with so they won't get to our file for a long, LONG time.

It honestly sucks. We're quite discouraged and have decided that if we don't get anything by December, we'll give it up for now.

So in this case, no news is bad news. It means we still haven't been accepted because apparently our incredible credit scores and stable jobs just aren't enough. If we do get something, you can be sure you'll hear about it. I'll be shouting it from the rooftops for sure.

Despite this pessimistic funk, we're still trying to have faith. We keep praying for help and guidance and we know that Heavenly Father will help us do what is right for us. I just hope we have the humility to accept it if the right thing is NOT getting a house right now.

Well DANGIT.

Ya know, we are told that sometimes the answer is YES, sometimes it's NO, and sometimes it's NOT RIGHT NOW.

When I DO hear it from the rooftops, I'll certainly be doing a major happy dance for you!!!

Alright, so you know I already have a beef with your "realtor"- but reading this....well, you should NEVER have to call and check up on an offer. Find yourselves a new guy fast!!
