To really appreciate the beautiful new room, let's take a look at the before. These are from the right side of the room, turning to the left.
For starters, yes, I took the pictures on a day when everything was really messy. And since we moved in knowing the room would have to be shared with a sibling, we didn't take time to really decorate it. We didn't know the gender of the new baby yet, so we left it in a state of "blah" on purpose.
But it sure helps you appreciate the glorious after pictures!
First, on the far right, is Bekah's beautiful bed with the new quilt by Aunt Amy and some matching pillows by me:
Here's a close-up of the quilt/bed just to help you really appreciate it:
Turning to the left we have the rocking chair and new blackout curtains, and a little peek of Jacob's crib:
His crib set is super cute with rockets and stripes:
Above the crib is a grouping of globes and a bunting:
(Yes, I know there's a white cord on the green wall and I'll be painting that soon!)
Close-up of those pretty lights:
And finally, on the far left wall is the changing table:
Honestly, I've been so involved with it for so long, I didn't realize how dramatic the transformation was until I looked at the before pictures again today. I am SO HAPPY with the way it all turned out. I hope the kids love it too, although I'm sure they can't appreciate all the hard work that went into it!
Special thanks to:
Holly for your amazing inspiration, encouragement and patience. I love that you are such a decorating genius and you are willing to share you amazingness with me.
Malcom for your patience in letting a pregnant woman change her mind 1,000 times in this process, and for not complaining about any of it.
Mom & Amy for helping us move furniture around and assemble stuff when you came to visit, and especially Amy for the new quilt.
Mark for your brute strength in moving all the master bedroom furniture to help rearrange the furniture in the kids room. We honestly couldn't have done it without you!
Heidi & Andrea for helping me paint the room in record time--one hour, ladies. You're amazing!
And anyone else who listened to me complain and talk about this room redo for the last four months.
When Jacob arrives you're all invited to come see the sweet new boy and his big sister in their fabulous "new" room!

Wow WOW WOW!!! The paint, curtains, lights, everything looks so good together! You've really come a long way. Must feel good. Now it's all ready for Jacob to arrive and mess everything back up again :)
It turned out sooooo well. I like the final arrangement of the room. It does look like the room is ready for little "Jake". Bring him on!
Totally awesome set-up. and the crib--seriously frosty!
I totally love the coordinating colors. It all goes together so cute. Do you think your SIL would come to my house and tell me how to decorate all the rooms? I love the name Jacob. I can't wait to meet him!
Kewlness to the max - there's SOO much more than just pink and blue! "Great job" to all who gave input!
