I'm glad I kept a journal...

... because my 12-year-old self provides so much amusement for my 32-year-old self!! Here are a few gems I found while reading through my oldest volume today:

January 13, 1988 "When I grow up I want to be a teacher. I like purple and green. I like all nice animals."

August 6, 1989 (We were on vacation and I asked Mom about my pet fish, Gopper) "Mom said Gopper was gone. Mom told me he was dead on Thur. (I think). I WAS VERY (INFINITY) SAD. I cried cause I really did miss him & I still do I will forever. Mom said she would get me some Goldfish but I won't be satisfied until I am up in heaven with my fish. Then I will be HAPPY forever and ever."

August 22, 1992 (Regarding a church dance) "So anyway, the dancing part was useless because Steve only danced with Karlie (probably cuz he likes her) and Mare (probably cuz she's too pushy). (Actually, I don't think that, it's just that Steve didn't dance with me and I'm jealous and almost hurt, so I'm subconsciously making excuses, but that's besides the point.)"

December 8, 1992 "I got make up. I got lipstick, mascara, and foundation. I can't wait to see how many people notice my eyes cuz they are small and lifeless."

I could read and laugh at this stuff for hours. What was I thinking?! I can't believe how silly and weird I was!

So funny! I was reading mine the other night about when I first met Jared. It was something about how we hung out at the Rose Parade, went to Denny's to eat, then decided to go shower and go bowling. But the way I wrote it made it sound like we were all showering together. Too weird. Love it.
