Not Quite Converted

In the mail today was an announcement that my nephew Tucker is getting baptized.

Me: Look, Bekah. Tucker's getting baptized.

Bekah: I want to be baptized.

"Yay," I think. "Maybe we're doing this parenting thing right. Maybe we're doing an okay job of teaching her the Gospel!"

Me: Sorry, honey, you have to wait until you're eight years old. Do you know what it means to be baptized?

Bekah: Umm... no.

Me: It means you are going to follow Jesus your whole life.

Bekah: But I don't want to follow Jesus!

Then again, maybe not!

That's cute! You are doing a great job. Sometimes I think I am a failure and then my kids will make comments about how excited they are to be getting older so that they can go to the temple. I think we are all aloud small moments every now and then that let us know that we are OK. I think Heavenly Father fills in the things we miss, somehow.
