Bekah's 4th TANGLED Birthday Party

Bekah wanted a Tangled (Rapunzel) birthday party, so that's what she got. She specified early-on that it was supposed to be "for girls only." We missed a few of our boy friends that way, but we had a good time. As always with a themed party, I spent too much time and money on making it fun, but I couldn't help myself!! It was fun to plan and it made her feel special which makes it all worth it. :)

Before the guests arrived, we got the birthday girl all dressed up. I bought the dress at Target, then braided lots of yarn into her hair for the full effect. I loved adding flowers to make it more like the movie and to cover up my mistakes!

When the girls first came, we painted jewelry boxes.

Then we played a few games: Feeding apples to Max...

(I made these apple bean bags out of scraps from home and some beans--I was honestly thrilled with how cute they turned out!)

...and Hit Flynn Rider on the Head with a Frying Pan.

(In retrospect, that's a terribly brutal game, but I couldn't resist!)

Then we went inside to find some "hair" tangled all over the living room!! Each girl had to untangle her own line to find a prize at the end...

...yarn hair!! Who knew girls would get so excited about yarn?!

Then it was time to open presents.

After that we put four tall candles on the cake (don't look too closely, it was definitely homemade and pretty hideous, although very yummy!) and sang to our Rebekah--eek, four years old already!!

The girls sat and ate while watching Tangled, singing along with the songs, until it was time to go.

After they all left, I was happy to see Bekah sitting and playing with her new favorite toy, the book from Malcom and me. :)

It was definitely successful and I am sure that she felt loved. I'm glad the costume will keep for Halloween and dress-ups for at least a year, and that little girls don't look too closely at imperfections!
