Catching Up

I have no good excuses for not blogging (my life seems a little boring so who would want to read about it?!), so I'll just jump into the catching up part.

Malcom has the day shift now and it's wonderful! It's remarkable to go to sleep in the same bed at the same time! And when he does a few hours of overtime, he's still home in time for dinner. Simple pleasures of a stay-at-home-mom, I know. He took this semester off school because Fall nearly killed him, but he'll start again in August.

I'm still doing my same stuff: quilting, reading, running (training for a 10K in April!), managing our home, and planning meals. I'm hoping to convince Malcom to start trying for another baby soon, some time this year, but he's always a little slow to come around to such upheaval of our lives!

Bekah is loving preschool, of course. She has a good friend there, Kami, who we've had a few playdates with. She also has regular playdates with Ella, a girl from our ward. And we have a tumbling class on Thursdays, which she really loves. She wants to try ballet next! I am applying to four different kindergartens in the area, in addition to the neighborhood school that we technically belong to. I can't believe I'm putting her in school in LA after all those years of swearing I wouldn't send my kids to LA schools! But life happens!

Jacob is still his sweet, calm self. He still doesn't say a word, but he loves to sing the E-I-E-I part of Old MacDonald. He loves to climb, touch everything he shouldn't, and pester his big sister. He loves to play with balls, spoons, and measuring cups. He has become attached to a stuffed dog--I promise, I didn't force it on him just so he'd have the same lovey as his sister, it just happened that way! He absolutely ADORES his daddy and insists on being held by Malcom within 30 seconds of him walking in the door.

So that's us, for now. No big developments or changes, nothing earth-shattering, which is just the way I like it! There's something to be said for predictability and stability, even if it feels a little boring at times.
