In case you were wondering how we're all doing...
Rebekah is doing very well. She has learned so many new words lately. I really enjoy the surprise of hearing her say a word I've never heard her say before. She'll repeat words too so she can "say the prayer" for meals and at bedtime. She is definitely TWO sometimes: she's easily upset when she doesn't get her way, insists on doing things herself even though she doesn't know how, and wants my attention almost all the time. But she's enjoyable and happy most of the time. Her favorite movies lately are The Little Mermaid and The Nightmare Before Christmas. I love both, so that's okay with me! Ever since Halloween, she likes to pretend to go trick-or-treating. She'll knock on a door or wall in the house and when you "answer," she'll say "chicka-chee!" We give her pretend candy, she puts it in her pretend bag, says thank you, and walks a few feet away. Then she comes back and knocks again. So funny!
Malcom is still working hard at a job that's fun, but with crappy hours. We're extremely grateful for it, especially for the overtime he's gotten lately, but the graveyard shift really impacts every aspect of his life. He's still taking online classes for his master's degree in visual effects. Working full time and taking classes doesn't leave much time for anything else, but he's managed to also update his demo reel with some great new visual effects shots. That reel is the key to him applying for better jobs. Keep us in your prayers! UPDATE: Here is Malcom's demo reel.
That just leaves me. I'm still substituting and tutoring. The tutoring jobs are great because even during weeks when I have no sub jobs, I still have guaranteed income. I really like the kids I'm working with which makes it easy too. When I'm not working, I'm with Bekah of course. And when she's sleeping, I try to catch up on other interests, like:
*reading - right now it's Escape and More Secrets of Happy Children
*sewing - my first quilt, nothing to show for now, but I'll post pictures as soon as the first stitch is in place!
*and decorating the house - I have a few things to finish from when Holly came and worked her magic. I love the way it makes me keep the house clean because I think it's so pretty!
I realize daily that we are very blessed. We have good jobs and a place to live. We have our health and the Gospel, and we have each other. I don't mean to sound cheesy here! Even when I'm annoyed with my district or frustrated that I don't get to see Malcom very often, I am acutely aware that our lives are rich and happy. It humbles me.

Thanks for the quick update! You don't realize how much you get from each other on blogs until it's not updated for a while! (I know I'm preaching to myself)
I love the "chicka-chee" story, TOO adorable! I'm glad for your sense of gratitude - I heard recently that that's the best place to start when you don't know what to pray for: counting your blessings helps you be humble, and then you'll be open to the Spirit, and you'll get those promptings...
