I'm still really enjoying the Virtual Quilting Bee I'm in. This month was a challenge. We got to use a technique called "paper piecing" where you sew the fabric pieces to a piece of paper. It helps you make extremely clean lines and work with intricate pieces. We got to make this "circle of geese" pattern using rainbow colors and an off-white background. Here is how mine turned out:
I was so happy to learn this new technique, even though this particular block I would probably never use. The whole point of joining this bee for me was to learn new quilting styles using other people's fabric and I really accomplished that this time. I hope to be able to do other great blocks using this style.

That is amazing! Every time I see a new block, it makes me want to join a virtual quilting bee. I think I might be able to handle a little at a time verses a whole quilt all at once. Your blocks always turn out so perfect.
Those look awesome! I haven't tried paper piecing because it always seemed so intricate to me. It's obvious it can be well worth the effort. Congratulations!
