I'll just say it once, it was HOT. H. O. T. Bekah and I were not good at adjusting to the heat, but we didn't die or melt, so I guess we're no worse for the wear.
We were there for nine days without Malcom (he had to work). We had lots of time to just hang out and enjoy family and friends. I don't remember everything we did, but I have pictures of a few things.
One of Bekah's favorites was playing in Grandma's back yard, especially with the sprinklers. My favorite was watching her run around in that outfit! So cute!
We also had the exceptional opportunity to play together with all the cousins. We convened at Brenda's house, which is super awesome by itself because we rarely get together. She has a full-time job and three kids, so she's always really busy. I'm so glad she made time for us because it was great. We got Amy and her boys there too and went swimming at the neighborhood pool. Then Mom and Dad joined us with pizza and we chatted and ate while the kids played. It was no big deal really, but that's what made it so good.
I also went to Holly's baby shower which was the event I planned my trip around. Here she is looking so pleased to be in a picture:
I was happy for her--she got lots of baby items and I think her little girl will have everything she needs!
We also ate out with my in-laws, hung out with Karlie and Sam and played, swam at Grandma's neighborhood pool, spent time with my cousin Wes and his son, sewed with Amy & Holly, stayed up WAY too late talking (I always do that!), and enjoyed local treats like Bahama Bucks and Bosa Donuts. So good.
We're back in LA now and getting into the swing of Summer. I really hope I can get a routine down for Bekah and I, otherwise we'll just be bored! Not that I'm complaining--I hope to enjoy a relative amount of boredom before Baby Boy arrives and really keeps me hopping! I'm sure I'll look back to these few months of ease and pine for them!

Awesome! I don't think I've ever seen pics of Brenda's kids. They look like Reid family members! :)
What a fun vacation - even with the heat and pregnancy and everything. Nothing better than getting together with siblings and having fun family time!
