We are giving Bekah vitamins now. The doctor said we'll give them to her once a day until she is two. I know they're important, but they are so gross! They're liquid form, to go down easier, but they smell (and taste) like...yuck! So we mix them in to her evening baby food and she doesn't seem to notice...for now.
The thing is, I don't take a vitamin every day and I probably should. I remember taking them when I was younger, probably because they were like candy. But I stopped...when? Why? Well, let me know what you're doing, because I'm sure not following any doctor's advice for myself.

I have a really hard time remembering! I used to be in the habit of taking them. But I was really sick with my last pregnancy and couldn't take them for most of it, so I got out of the habit. Now I only remember to take it a couple times a month...
I have a few words of advice on this subject... First of all, as for kids... if your doctor prescribed something for Bekah, then that is great. But, if you ever want a change or a cheaper, easier alternative, the "Gummy Vites" are the best. I know several pediatricians who have said that, and kids love them and they are easy to digest. As for grown-ups... I think digestion is the key. In other words take a multi-vitamin that is in some other form besides a pill. The pills are hard for your body to digest and you only really absorb a fraction of what is in the pill. So, get a liquid or powder multi-vite that is made especially for women. We have a few specific needs in the vitamin department... let me know if you want more info.
Linds, I take one prenatal vitamin and two fish oil suppliments as well as CLA suppliments (conjugated linoleic acid) each day. I've been on prenatals since I was pregnant with Elias. If you set them above your sink, you'll never forget!
I am a little nutty when it comes to taking my vitamins. Thank my parents for that. X (yes, Xander too) and I take 1 multi, 1 calcium w/ vit D, Vit E, 1 Fish oil, Vit Ester C and Vit. B. Phew, I know, told you I was nutty about taking them. It works the best for us to use a weekly pill case. That way I don't have to divvy them out every day. Can you imagine? It's hard enough to remember to take them. I always think it's better to take them after breakfast with food in my tummy. Good luck!
I try and take vitamins but the iron makes me feel like morning sickness (something I never want again in my life) Kids get too constipated. I guess it would be wise to get them some with out iron... We did the gummy bear vits for the kids, biggest problem is keeping them away from them for their own good.
