I Helped Make a Quilt!

Earlier this year, I found a great project to work on. A woman in Australia wanted to get a bunch of quilts sewn together for those families who were victims of the bush fires in February. She asked anyone reading her blog to make quilt blocks and send them her way. I felt inspired and got to work.

I told my friends about it and we got together for a craft night. We made quilt blocks and sent them on their merry way. I just checked back yesterday to see if our blocks made it to a family. I didn't find any word about who the quilt went to, but I did find a picture.

Mostly, ours are the ones with black centers, and the ones with yellow centers but white backgrounds. Specifically, counting each block/star, starting in the upper left corner, ours are numbers 3, 5, 8, 9, 12, 17, 24, 27, 29 and 30.

I was so happy to see our little blocks put with a bunch of others. What a fun and crazy quilt it turned out to be. I love that our work went half way around the world and will be helping someone else. Yay!

I am in love with this quilt and want it for my bed. Selfish me... glad it's going to someone who needs it!
