First Birthday

For all of you who couldn't attend, and those who would like to relive the fun times, here is the birthday recap.

The scene was set with all the birthday trappings:
food

decorations (Hello Kitty is so cute!)

presents

family

and friends.

Then the birthday girl arrived just in time.

We all ate lunch (no pictures of people stuffing their faces, you're welcome!), then went to opening presents. Bekah wasn't able to rip the paper by herself, so I helped.

She mostly loved eating the bows or the cards.

She got some really great presents and we're definitely set on toys for a while.

Then we lit the candle and sang the birthday song. She didn't know what a candle was or how to blow one out, so we had to help on that one too.

(The pitchy harmony notes at the end were me and I'm very sorry.)

We cut into the cake and served a small slice to the birthday girl. Rebekah liked it, but certainly didn't make the mess we all expected. She ate more frosting than cake and did it all with her index fingers.

We lingered with friends and family for a while, eating more cake and watching Bekah play with her new toys. She was very content and seemed to really enjoy herself. It was a great first birthday; low stress, a well-behaved daughter, lots of loved-ones, good food, and a really pretty day.

Afterward, Bekah went down for a well-deserved nap and I got to sit on the couch and chat with my mom. A great ending for me too!

OH! How cute is she with her dainty finger cake eating style? Wish we could of been there once again :) Btw, we're trying to plan matching dresses for Drew's wedding. More on our girly blog.

Happy birthday Bekah! Looks like she enjoyed it. I wish we could have been there as well. The frosting is always my favorite part of a cake as well.

What a lady-like little one year old! Rowan was a ravenous little piggy monster with her cake!

So sorry we couldn't drive over. A bad day for all in our house- no one felt good but JT and he had a ton of stuff to accomplish. :(

Soon, yes?

What a happy birthday! I really enjoyed looking at your monthly pictures of her growing up, too. And FYI the time only goes faster from here... :)
