Growing Up

Here are some recent pictures of Rebekah, proving that she's growing up too quickly now that she's past the year mark

Like all toddlers, she likes to touch and play with things that aren't really toys, especially anything Mommy plays with. So, I snuck the camera around the backside of the couch when I caught her playing with my purse. It's not a fabulous picture, but I think it's so funny. She sat there contentedly playing for at least five minutes without budging.

I snuck this one too. She loves books. LOVES THEM. We have plenty of board books for her to look at and play with. But of course, Mommy's books are always better. I only let her hold my grown-up books when I'm directly supervising and I tell her "soft" repeatedly (our cue word for being gentle and careful that she usually obeys). She had a great time thumbing through the pages of Anne of Windy Poplars until she caught me with the camera and went reaching for it. :P

Here's the only one I didn't have to sneak. I plopped her up on Grandma Reid's chair and snapped away. She knew she couldn't get down by herself, so she had to endure Paparazzo Mommy for a bit. When I imported this photo, I marveled at how long her legs look. What a big girl.

Mommy's things are always funner than the boring kid toys. I LOVE her curls.

I love the long legs... the cute clothes, EVERYTHING! But I especially love the ponytails. THAT is the tell-tale sign of a big girl!! :)
