A Week in My Life--THURSDAY

Sick and tired.

I could probably stop this post right there because that totally describes how I've felt all day. Nothing really took place of those two feelings for more than 10 minutes at a time. I hated my clothes today too--I'm between sizes kinda, and I need to do laundry so I feel like I have nothing to wear. When I finally commit to something, I hate the way it looks when I put it on. Bleh.

Okay, so other stuff did happen too. Let's see...

Bekah and I lounged on the couch until about 9:30. I fed her and interacted with her during that time, don't worry, but I was comatose at times too. I was finally able to get myself up and playing with her by playing some music.

It's amazing to me how sometimes I just have to play a good song and I feel better, enough to chase Bekah around the couch and play doggies with her.

Malcom was up by 10:30 so we went to Target. It didn't necessarily have to be a family outing (I would've preferred to go alone, honestly) but when Malcom is home with us, he thinks even the most routine errands are fun. So he came with us. He played with Bekah in the toy section while I picked up the few things I needed. We browsed movies and bikes and patio furniture too.

I'm sorry, but I've always loved these mini versions of awnings in Target. Ever since I was a little girl I've loved miniatures of everything. I never had a doll house, but I thought anything that was shrunken was cute. I still can't walk by without giggling!

Taco Bell for lunch. Yes, I know, it's like the 15th time we've eaten fast food this week. For the record, we're not like this in real life. We probably eat fast food twice a month when I'm not pregnant. It's just the instant gratification thing; I know I can get whatever I want with very little effort. I just have to sit in the car, tell the nice people what to make and they do it for me. It's just too easy.

So we put Bekah down for a nap and we napped too. So needed. I was dead on my feet even in Target, so I was very happy to sleep. I got up by 3:30 and made my way to tutoring.

I only tutor one client right now, same kid twice a week. He's a 6th grader and I am beginning to enjoy our sessions. At the start of the year, he was kind of a pill. He wasn't always honest with me about his homework or grades and he didn't try very hard. After lots of work, he's gotten then hang of it now. He shows me every project and paper, tells me about his successes and failures, and even starts his homework before I get there. We talk and joke a lot so it's even a little fun sometimes. His mom is a GEM, a fun and sassy English lady who is in the fashion industry. She always offers me food and takes really good care of me. So nice!

I picked up Bekah and managed to get a picture of all the kids. These kids are her second family, the friends she prefers above all others. They really treat her like family too, like the youngest sibling in the group. It's really sweet.

Then home, then an honest-to-goodness meal! (Crap, I was gonna take a picture and totally forgot!) It's called tamale pie, and I actually chopped veggies and worked from scratch. It was yummy!

I ran off to a song practice while Malcom stayed with Bekah (his schedule changed for tonight, so he was with us all day--so nice!). I'm singing "All Creatures of Our God and King" with a small group on Sunday. It was our first practice all together and it went really well. We have four women singing, a cello, a violin, and piano. I think it's coming together nicely. The best part is I get to sing tenor, my favorite!

I came home to find this sweet scene waiting for me:

Malcom had done all the bedtime routine and they were just finishing up. I only had to do the singing (my favorite part) and then she was asleep. After that Malcom and I actually got to sit and hang out watching TV and chatting. That's a rare treat and I really enjoyed it.

So I still feel sick and tired, and I'm sooooo glad Malcom was home with us all day. I really don't think I could've managed without him.

Now I'm off to bed with my hubby and my book. 50 more pages and I'm done. I think I'll barely make it! I'm working tomorrow again (busy week, right?!) so hopefully I'll get it finished during class. I wish I could get paid to read without watching the teenagers at the same time!

This was a shorter post, but I think I did alright for feeling so crappy today. I realize now that I'm taking fewer and fewer pictures as the week goes by. We have some fun things planned for the weekend, so I'm sure I'll have more to show in the next few days!

Sorry you had a crappy day... :(

It actually sounded pretty productive and entertaining despite what you might think! Good job!

p.s. I spy Jon Bon Jovi!

Sorry you're day was bleh. No fun.

But it sounded like you were still able to do much...I'd love to hear your musical number, if you can record it, since I'm the music chair(wo)man and am looking for numbers to get people to do. Awesome day, even for feeling ucky.
