You may be wondering where her pajama pants are...
... on her head, of course!
Malcom was up by 10 so he got to spend some quality time with Bekah for a change. Just watching TV with her and playing with her toys; simple yet so important.
I got enough of a little break to talk to my dear friend, Rachel. She was one of my closest friends in college and remains one of my favorite people. She also happens to be my personal photographer! Well, she's a professional photographer and she's shot me and my little family a few times. I know I can't afford her in real life, but after having such beautiful family portraits, I don't think that anything else will ever measure up!
After getting ready... (me in my pink shirt with matching pink shoes!)...
...we went to look at a bedroom set someone was selling on Craigslist. We don't have ANY furniture in the master bedroom besides Malcom's desk. Our bed is just on a metal frame, that's it. So sad! We want a real bedroom set, but don't have $2000 to spend, so we figured Craigslist might have something for us. The set was $300, but after looking at it, Malcom was annoyed with how cheaply it was made and we didn't get it. I hate shopping for furniture. It's all way too expensive. :(
We soothed our sorrows with McDonald's big macs, fries, and ice cream.
Bekah got down for a late nap, which of course makes a difference later in the day... But it gave me time to make a dent in the dishes:
(yes, this is the AFTER!)
Then I talked to Karlie on the phone. I talk to her at least once a week and we always talk for at least 20 minutes. She's been my friend since 5th grade, and my best friend since high school (between 5th and 10th grades, we were more like love/hate friends!). We consider each other sisters, especially since she doesn't have any sisters. It's always great to talk to her, whether it's about something important, or nothing at all.
After the nap, Bekah and I went to the grocery store to pick up food for the week. I really dislike the grocery store, so if I can make a good list based on a week's menu plan, I only have to go there once a week and that makes me happy!
Good ol' Ralph's... not really good, because it always feels expensive, but they're everywhere and I can't seem to find EVERYTHING I need all in one place at other stores. Bleh.
We ate dinner, then Bekah and I played for a while. Coloring, puzzles, and a quick game of Candy Land. Then it was bedtime, a little later than normal (8:15) because her nap was late. I don't really mind that, but it sure shortens my "me time." Then again, I'll be missing her a lot again tomorrow because I'm working, so I guess there's a general balance there.
I talked with Amy (my older brother's wife) for a bit after bedtime, yet another great phone companion. We talk a few times a week and at least one of those conversations lasts over an hour. We just get going and can't stop!!
A few things I noticed today:
1) I pile shoes in the most unattractive place, right near the front door! It's a habit that I just can't seem to shake!
2) I have always hated this phenomenon about the city we live in: people don't have cars so they steal the shopping carts from the grocery stores to get their groceries home, then leave the carts strewn throughout the city. It's so ghetto! It makes everything look trashy. Grrrr!!!!
3) I saw this license plate frame on the back of one of my neighbor's cars. It is a cute little silverish/light-blue Toyota Hybrid. I got a good laugh out of it!
Now it's late as I'm typing this last paragraph, 11:47 to be precise. I had my LOST buddy, Krista, over and we watched our weekly addiction, plus Glee, then stood outside talking for-ev-er. So, I'm up late on a school night. I'll be hating life tomorrow! Well, it was so worth it. A day of good conversations and I even got some work done too.

I love lazy days! Although I do feel better when I have a productive day. I think we need to have a lazy day every now and then to remind us how good it feels when we have busy days.
I love it! Sounds like a great day, especially ending with movie time with a friend!
Love to hear what you are doing since I can't be in your life everyday. Miss that! :0( Whenever I look West I think of you in California and miss you. BooWoo! Keep up your goal - it is a worthy one. Hugs! by the way it is cold here today (65 degrees in April)
Ah Linds, you'll always get a deal with me. ;)
Love reading what you're up to!
SORRY Lindsey! I'll try not to blaber too much next week LOL. You are just such a great conversationalist.... (sp?)
