Bekah Turns Three!

Well, she turned three on Monday, but the party was yesterday. I've been working on all the preparations for a month and it was great to finally execute them! We planned the party for outside in the "backyard" area behind the apartment building. I set everything up and we were ready before the first guests arrived promptly at 10am.

First, we made fruit loop necklaces. The littlest ones just ate handfulls of the fruit loops while the older ones worked hard.

Then we colored some little name tags to go on water bottles.

Yes, these are kinda silly crafts, but they were CHEAP and the kids had food and water whenever they needed it, so they worked out well.

Next we played games, Pin the Cupcake in the Birthday Girl's Mouth and bean bag toss.

Then it was time for presents, my favorite part. I was very excited to see Bekah's reaction to all the gifts we had bought for her. Plus her friends really spoiled her with toys and she was very happy!

One of the presents was a cape and booties for White Doggy. SO ADORABLE!!!!

The BIG PRESENT from us was her bike. We debated a tricycle at first, but her knees almost hit the handles on all the ones we tried, so we went right for a bike instead. She was really happy and loved riding it right away.

(Her reaction to the big reveal.)

Then for the kids' favorite part, the cupcakes. I made strawberry cupcakes with strawberry frosting and marshmallow flowers--strawberries are Bekah's favorite fruit.

The hour was up and everyone left. She cried when she had to say goodbye to her friends. Poor thing! But Zac was able to linger (thanks for helping us clean up, Krista!) and they played with the bike for a while. So cute!

Malcom and I spent the rest of the day recovering from two days of partying; Bekah spent it playing with all her toys and flying Doggy around in his cape. We are so blessed to have such great friends to celebrate with, and blessed to have such a happy and beautiful little three-year-old.

Ah, I wish I could have been there! The cape a boots are so. freakin. cute. What a genius idea! And the pics of B riding around on her big girl bike are just adorable, but please tell her to stop growing up for a while, okay?

I can't wait to see you guys in a couple weeks! Have you been telling Bekah about her cousin Cora?

I wish I could have been there. I love all of your party ideas. The cupcakes were so cute. Pin the cupcake on the girl's mouth, how cut is that. The boots and cape, so adorable. I'm sure Bekah enjoyed turning three.

You HAVE to tell your friend what a grand idea that was for the cape and booties! They're perfect!

I like the way the marshmallows turned out - wahooooo - and your poster is adorable too. Wish I could have been there as well. Soon soon!!!
