I've been working on a few quilting projects this month. First, the blocks for the Virtual Quilting Bee I'm in:
They're called scrappy string blocks. I will definitely use this style of piecing again, someday when I have enough scraps to make a whole quilt!
Also, I got the chance to make some quilts for a humanitarian project for church. They supplied two pieces of fabric and yarn to make the quilts. I took two sets, ditched the yarn (not my style), added some batting and white binding and came up with these:
I was able to try some new quilting techniques on quilts I won't have to look at again. I won't have to obsess over my mistakes since they're being donated to a charity! It was good to try something new.

very cute blocks. I love the quilts! Did you stitch them by hand or by machine? They look machine stitched to me, which is very impressive. No matter how hard I try, I can not sew a very strait line.
Whoo! That new block is intense!! And cute baby quilts, too!
