My Baby Shower

This weekend was a busy one, mostly centered around my baby shower. I was so happy to have Mom and Amy come from Arizona to help celebrate. They brought presents for Bekah too, of course. Mom spoiled her with lots of clothes and this FANTASTIC Little Mermaid costume.

Amy brought a new quilt for Bekah. It's the large striped one on the bed and I absolutely LOVE it. I'm a little jealous that Bekah has an Amy-made quilt before me, but I can't be too mad--look at how pretty it is!!

Bekah loved playing with her grandma and hardly let her out of her sight.

The baby shower was awesome! Three of my closest friends (Becka, Krista & Teressa) planned it all. The food was brunch-themed and the decorations were so cute in browns, blues and greens.

The only sad part was that not a lot of people showed up. It honestly bothered me because we sent out over 40 invitations and only 15 people were there. Many people gave really honest, polite excuses at church and in e-mails, but it still made me feel bad. I really just wanted to see all their faces, and I feel bad that my friends spent so much time and money to plan it for so few people. :(

I couldn't stay sad for too long because we did some party games, including this crazy one where everyone had pictures of Malcom and I and made a baby! They got to cut up our faces and put them together to make a version of what they think this boy will look like. They were hilarious!

Then I got to open presents and I felt so blessed! I got a bunch of cute clothes and so many diapers.

Mom gave me a new diaper bag and I'm super excited about it.

I am feeling much more prepared for this boy to hurry up and get here already!

Mom and Amy also helped us rearrange the furniture in the kids' room and the master bedroom to help make way for the baby. And last night we went to The Sound of Music Sing-Along at The Hollywood Bowl. It was a blast! We were dead on our feet when we got home last night. So much to do in so little time! It was great to have them in town to help me and spoil me, and I really felt incredibly loved.

Lindsey, that shower looked so cute! I'm glad you got so many cute things and that your mom and Amy could be there too!

I have had that same experience where you plan and invite and then have a much smaller gathering than what you planned. It is disappointing to be sure!

Wish I could have been there, but I'm glad Amy and Mom made it...I guess that is just the price you pay to have cousins the same age as your kid. Now you guys just need to move a little closer so we can see you more often. I hear Flagstaff is pretty nice :) Oh, and that game with the pictures is hilarious! I have never seen that before and I would TOTALLY have played that at my shower (which is saying something since I hate shower games!)
