Happy Anniversary

I am so happy to say that this month marks the 20th anniversary of my friendship with Karlie. Can you believe it?! We've known each other since fifth grade and we still like each other! We agree that we've only been "best" friends for maybe the last 10 or 15 years because the beginning was a little rocky. So, I have to pause now to reflect on all the wonderful facets of my dear friend, and our crazy friendship.

I love Karlie for so many reasons. She is extremely positive and takes it as her personal mission to spread joy to everyone. She's always been that way. She is incredibly pretty, something I was very jealous of as a teenager, but have since made my peace with it! She is a great mom to her sweet little boy, conscientious about his upbringing without being overbearing. She is a pillar of spiritual strength even when she thinks she lacks faith. I absolutely love all these things about her.

We have some special, funny and stupid memories together. My personal favorites include the time when she got stuck on top of the metal gate breaking into the golf course while the bishop's wife drove by; surprisingly NOT getting lost or harmed in any way while we traveled in Europe; being at each other's weddings; only having one kissing partner in common (thanks, Brian!) because our taste in guys is so incredibly different; me being jealous of her in college for her beauty while she was jealous of my friend-making abilities; and stupid preppy nicknames in junior high.

Karlie, Chuck, Brie, Bitsy, you're the best. Thank you for all the fun times. Thank you for always listening. Thank you for being closer than a sister. Thank you for all the parenting advice when I needed it. Thank you for putting up with my immaturities, in the past and currently. I love you so much and count myself so lucky to have you.

Hey Lindsey! How are you? I love that you have an "oldie" too! My oldest and one of my dearest friends have known one another since we were three, now we are 36. Glad your girl got her cast off, my Liam had Metatarus adductus (sp) he wore a brace for awhile as a baby. It is hard, hang in there! Hope all is well, and I am still loving my apron! Heather
