Bekah Boo

Rebekah is doing well lately, for all of you who've asked. She is generally a very happy baby. She is great about playing by herself for long stretches of time. Not that we ignore her, just that she doesn't seem to need/want us when we try to play with her. Occasionally, she enjoys sitting in our laps while playing with a toy. She is a big of a cuddler at times. :)

Another of her recent favorite things to do is to squeeze herself between the computer desk and the wall. She likes to reach into the box beneath the desk and bother all of daddy's stuff.

Below is just an every-day kind of cute picture. Although I have to note that this was the outfit that got two different strangers to ask "Is it a boy or a girl?" Seriously people?! The outfit might be blue, but it's covered in FLOWERS!

You probably wouldn't believe how long her hair is now without seeing this picture for yourself. After bath time, it gets all curly, but when she sleeps on it, it straightens out. Here is Malcom showing you exactly how long it is when it's not curled tightly, or laying flat against her head. So much cute hair!

We're anxiously waiting for more teeth. She has no less than SIX trying to come out right now (four on the top, two on the bottom). She's got the classic symptoms-fussiness, excessive drool, pulling her ears-but none have broken through. We'll try to get pictures of them as soon as they come in.

I'll be taking Rebekah to the pool a lot this Summer. I found out that the community pool down the street is free for kids and only $2 for adults. It's very well maintained, has a kiddie pool, and a great dressing room. We went yesterday just for a test drive. She got a little upset with the water (I think it was a bit too cold with the breeze), and I think the size of the pool was a little overwhelming compared to the tub, but overall she seemed to enjoy it. She really liked watching all the kids playing around too.

Her brace is going to be on for six weeks.  That seems like a long time, but compared to the cast it'll be no big deal. We can take it off for baths and the pool, and it doesn't impact any of her other daily activities. I haven't found any cute socks to go under it, though.  I've got solid white and pink, but nothing fancy.  It's hard to find socks that are small enough and thin enough with a cute pattern on them.  Oh well, I guess people will just have to focus on her sweet spirit instead of her looks.

That's it for the Bekah update. She sure is a lot of fun and if you haven't come to visit lately, I highly recommend it! :) For Arizona folks, we'll be there for two weeks in August, so we'll see you soon enough!
