Obsessed!

I am absolutely obsessed with my new sewing machine. It was a combined birthday/Mother's Day present and I'm so glad I asked for it.

Today I finished a quilt I've been working on since December. I did most of the piecing then, and quilted it in February. But the quilting went really bad--lots of bunching and craziness on the back side. So I threw it in a pile to forget about it.

Then we moved.

And I was enduring first trimester craziness.

So I haven't gotten back to it until now! But the new machine and all its divine quilting attachments motivated me. I took the quilt to AZ last weekend so Amy (my quilting mentor) could help me re-pin it and make it right. I started working on it on Tuesday, within hours of getting back from the 8-hour drive. And now it is done!

This is Bekah's beach quilt, made from some great Hawaiian print fat quarters that Mom brought me back from Hawaii last year, and other coordinating fabrics. It's loud and busy, perfect for the beach!
