Daina "paid" for us with some free passes she had--WOO HOO! We started at the petting zoo which I knew would be Bekah's favorite. There were goats and sheep but we stayed mostly near the goats.

We walked (hiked!) onward to see different types of monkeys, birds, and cats. Then we sat down for a quick snack at some picnic tables before the bird show. I snapped a photo of Maddy, Daina & Bekah before the birds started flying.

Then we went to see bears, giraffes (my favorite!), elephants, komodo dragons, and orangutans (which I always mis-pronounce as "or-AYN-goo-tangs" even though it's not spelled that way!). One part of the orangutan enclosure had some thick glass where we could get right up next to the animals. We got to watch a baby and his mommy play around for a bit, up close and personal. It was really cool!

Next we saw zebras and koalas before stopping for lunch. Bekah demonstrated once again her love of carrying around things that are clearly too big for her. What a nut!

After lunch, Maddy kept asking to go home and Bekah was getting fussy/sleepy, so we headed out. It was a ton of fun and I think we'll be going again in the near future.

How fun! I LOVE the zoo. I just don't like all the walking. Little zoos are my favorite. My favorite animals to see are elephants and giraffes.
