Krista went in first, the night before, and had a long induction. I was able to go be with her, her husband Greg, and her Aunt Lorie for some of the labor. Fun times (for me!). After Krista got an epidural at 5pm, she got some much needed rest and was able to last through the evening. Around 1:00 she started pushing, and by 2:00am she had delivered her little boy. Great job! He doesn't have a name yet, but they're leaning toward Ashley, Steven, or Zachary.

Becka went in later in the day. She got admitted around 7pm and got her epidural shortly after. Her labor went a little faster and she had a little girl in her arms by 5am. Way to go! Her name is Zaphren Aurora. Cool, right?!

Both babies are healthy and well, and both moms are trying to rest (no mom ever gets REAL rest while still in the hospital!). Those kids will be told for the rest of their lives that their birthdays are the same and the story of how two close friends went into labor at the same time.
I am so excited to have fresh, new babies around. I love holding them and realizing that my Bekah was once that small. I will try to be a very conscientious friend and help them with whatever they need. I think having my colicky baby made me a lot more sympathetic to how hard it can be during those first few months.
Now, I have two other friends delivering before the end of the year, so I'm just getting started in this role. I'll keep you posted on it all!
