Los Angeles Fires

No, we are NOT going up in flames.

You may have seen news coverage on some crazy fires in Southern California going on right now. Just in case you're wondering, those are not threatening us directly. We live in a very urban area of the San Fernando Valley and it would be nearly impossible for a brush fire to reach us. However, it is burning closer than it ever has before. About 20 miles northwest of us, the fire is getting near homes and areas that we visit. We have friends, a Stake Center (church building), Malcom's university (CSUN), and a good mall over in that direction. A lot of schools are closed in that area, more school closures than I've ever seen.

The smoke is heavy enough in the air that I smell it in my home throughout the day. Yuck. I'm concerned about Bekah breathing it all in, so we won't be going to the park today like I had planned.

But, all things considered, things are going well for us. We're not in danger and we'll keep praying for those fire fighters and families.

Good. I'm glad you're safe and well.

I'm in the cheap-y range for groceries over there. Not shabby for a family of 5 (formula AND diapers!) Either that, or you have rich friends.
