Giving Thanks, Day 13
I am thankful for a full day. Bekah slept in until 8, but after that I got really busy. I played with her this morning intermittently doing dishes and reading, then went to the gym during her first nap (how much do I love that Malcom is home sleeping during the day?!). I got home and showered just in time for Bekah to wake up. We did lunch, then off to run errands. We got home and played, then she took her 2nd nap--SO THANKFUL FOR A TODDLER THAT TAKES TWO NAPS! During the nap I scrubbed the kitchen floor which has needed it for so long. Then we played some more, did dinner, bath, bottle, teeth and bed. Now she's talking herself to sleep and I realize that I've had a great day. Nothing momentous has happened, but being busy has helped me feel like I've really used my time as a stay-at-home mom. Instead of dreading the chores, putting them off all day, watching TV and feeling like a bum at the end of the day, I feel like I have worked hard and really deserve a break tonight. I'll watch The Office without any guilt, then read without any guilt, then go to bed and probably sleep soundly. It may seem like such a lame thing to be thankful for, but if this is the secret to having more good days, I'll make myself busy more often!

A busy day is NEVER a lame thing to be thankful for. I often wonder why I dread cleaning and running errands, when I always feel really good after I have done the work. I have decided that Satan knows we can find joy in work and he tries to tell us otherwise.
A two nap toddler?
Goodness me, I am SOOOO jealous! I'm enjoying reading your thankful-ness posts. Not to sound cheesy but I'm thankful for old friends like you!
