As I was driving home from choir practice tonight, I noticed a Christmas tree in the front window of a shopping center. While it looked nice and got me excited, I was surprised at how Thanksgiving just got shoved to the side in that store. Actually, in most stores, the calendar goes right from Halloween to Christmas. I thought that Thanksgiving shouldn't be so neglected, that we should celebrate it more.
But how?
For Halloween, there are obvious things like haunted houses, obsessing over a costume, and attending parties.
For Christmas, we have infinite decorating possibilities, family get-togethers, musical performances, and more parties.
But for Thanksgiving, besides the actual day, what is there?!
I thought, 'Well, I can at least try to be more full of thanksgiving, right?' And that's when I decided to do at least a little something: I'll post some message of thanksgiving every day between Halloween and Thanksgiving Day. At least I'll be focused on the right things for a few weeks. Maybe I'll think of other holiday-themed events to partake of, but for now, this is all I've got!
